Winger is a rock and metal band formed by rock musician Kip Winger in 1987 in NYC. The band debuted with a self-titled album in 1988 to great acclaim. It placed high on various American as well as Japanese and Canadian music charts. "Madalaine," "Miles Away," "Seventeen" and "Headed for a Heartbreak" are the band's celebrated singles. Winger's sophomore album titled In the Heart of the Young was also well received. The band has toured extensively in North America. After years under the spotlight, the band disbanded in 1994 with the individual members pursuing solo careers in the music industry. The band reformed in 2001 and has been touring ever since then. It has also delivered albums like IV, Karma and Better Days Comin'.
