After bands like Reel Big Fish and the Mighty Mighty Bosstones broke out in the late 90s, it seemed like you couldn't throw a rock without hitting some new group of kids rocking Operation Ivy and Specials records while putting together a horn section for their punk/ska band. As with all sudden trends, however, the fad quickly died out, leaving devoted groups to carry on after the band-wagoners had jumped ship. Combining quick upstroke guitar strumming, punk rhythms and catchy horn lines, Grand Rapids, Michigan-based outfit Mustard Plug is one of those bands that has soldiered on, entirely undeterred.
