The oversized barrel was set up as an unusual monument to German wine. About 200 fir trees from the Black Forest had to be felled to carry out the plans of the local vineyard owner, Fritz Keller. The barrel does not perform its proper function of storing wine. Here the fine wines are served in the built-in restaurant. Having the distinction to being the largest of its kind in the world, this local attraction is a must visit. Kids are welcome as well to relish their regional cuisine.
