Highly regarded as one of the most popular and visited historic properties in the whole of Massachusetts, the Isaac Winslow House is the ancestral home of the founding family of the town of Marshfield. Built in 1699 by Judge Isaac Winslow, this Avant Garde mansion has served as the home of prominent local lawyers, governors, doctors, judges and generals, many of whom played an important role in the creation of Marshfield and the South Shore. Today, this South Shore mansion serves as a museum with its interiors, architecture and antiques paying homage to the Winslow Period, prior to the American Revolution. The house was enlisted into the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.
