Incorporated as a city in the year 1818, Lancaster is one of Pennsylvania’s most popular tourist getaways. Home to some of the oldest Amish communities, the historic town perfectly blends the eccentricities of a small town with the amenities of a modern city. The Historic Rock Ford, Lancaster Museum of Art and the Landis Valley Museum are some of the city's most popular attractions. An ideal getaway for families, the town is also home to child-friendly attractions such as the Amish Farm and House.
