Chimayo is a picturesque village nestled in New Mexico's Rio Arriba and Santa Fe counties. Since 1816, Chimayo has been known to house a Catholic chapel widely known as the Santuario de Chimayo. According to believers, the chapel possesses physical and spiritual healing properties. The old chapel attracts many visitors to the town every year. The Santo Nino Chapel, built in the traditional northern New Mexico style, is another religious site in the village. Chimayo is also known for the Chimayo Museum, a tranquil space that brings its rich history to life.
