It is also home to Berea College, a private liberal arts work college. The Historic Boone Tavern Hotel and Restaurant makes for a unique attraction in the town, being built and run by the Berea College crew. For outdoor enthusiasts, the city is home to the John B. Stephenson Memorial Forest State Nature Preserve, which features picturesque trails through its serene landscape.
