With a seating capacity of almost 2000, The New is Oxford's premier theater, offering a wide range of shows from opera and ballet to modern musicals, tribute bands and popular comedy acts. Annual visits are made by nationally-acclaimed touring companies including the English National Ballet, Glyndebourne Touring Opera, the Welsh National Opera and the Rambert Dance Company. The theater is well laid out, service between acts is usually rapid and courteous, and there are good views of the stage from all seats.
