Christened after Captain Thomas Coupe, a daredevil seafarer and an early settler of the Whidbey Island, Coupeville is a gorgeous maritime town. Steeped in rich history and blessed with a bounty of natural attractions, this town is one of the oldest and well-preserved gateways to old school Washington. The striking red façade of the Coupeville Wharf jutting out into the azure Penn Cove is the most iconic sight and unmissable attraction of the town. The historic downtown here captures the imagination of every traveler who sets foot in this town, with the centuries-old buildings adding to the glory of the environs. The dramatic waterfront of the town looks straight out of a movie, drawing throngs of tourists to take a well-composed picture here. The Ebey's Landing National Historical Reserve is one of the most prominent attractions of the town, meriting a visit by nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts alike.
