Ile de la Barthelasse

Situated between two branches of the Rhône, Barthelasse island provides a peaceful and leafy refuge for visitors and locals. Not only is it the ideal place for out-of-door sports (such as cycling, running or rowing), it's also a great spot for camping as it's not far from the city centre. If however you don't feel like venturing too far, you can still get something to eat in the nearby Bercail restaurant or treat yourself to a night-time promenade along the newly opened towpath running along the banks of the Rhône opposite the Palais des Papes and St Bénezet bridge. A beautiful natural site.
