Designed mainly for serious dramas, the John Golden Theater was built in 1927 by the Chanin Brothers. This small venue is ideal for intimate productions (about 800 seats). Audiences take away a real, intimate theatrical experience that they may not necessarily get in the many far larger theaters on Broadway. Beware tall people - like many of New York's older theaters, there isn't a lot of leg room.
