The Panorama Mesdag is a large panoramic painting created in the 19th Century when panoramas were a popular artistic attraction. Is is located in a purpose-built cylindrical structure just down the street from the Vredespaleis grounds. The panorama is the oldest still in its original location in the world and depicts The Hague, Scheveningen, and the dunes and seaside that have long been associated with them. It depicts everyday life just as it was at the time of its painting and offers a rare and beautiful glimpse of the city at the time.
