Historic Kenmore Gardens is a popular attraction for both locals and tourists. Built in 1929 by The Garden Club of Virginia, the gardens feature varieties of plants, flowers, shrubs and more. In 1992, the Wilderness Walk was created that includes many Native American plants. The plantation was built by the sister and brother-in-law of former American President, George Washington and therefore holds much historical significance. Events here include outdoor lectures, games, story telling and other community gatherings. The property is maintained by the Kenmore Garden Guild and is a popular tourist site.
