TOURIST ATTRACTIONS & SIGHTSEEING, PRACTICAL INFORMATION
Basilica di Sant'Andrea di Mantova is a beautiful church, located in central Mantua, that exudes an archaic charm. The construction of the church dates back to the 15th century. It is adorned with a rich Renaissance design with a beautiful facade and stunning elevations in its interiors. Besides being famous for its stately architecture, the Basilica di Sant'Andrea di Mantova is visited by hordes of tourists and pilgrims to have a glimpse of the relics of the holy blood of Jesus Christ, which is kept in sacred vessels in the church. These vessels are on display only on the Holy Friday and are then brought on the street for a procession. Though the entry to the church is free, a small donation is required for a visit to the crypt.
