Initially known as Johnson's Depot, Johnson City can trace its origins back to 1856 when it was a railroad station founded by Henry Johnson. Often voted as a friendly city for Afro-Americans to retire, one can experience a melting pot of cultures here which culminate in a grand celebration of festivals and national holidays.
