Mystic

Mystic is a picturesque village located on its namesake river that divides the towns of Groton and Stonington. It was established in 1654 and is a significant port in eastern Connecticut. Mystic is home to Mystic Seaport, one of the largest maritime museums in the United States. The museum, with its traditional 19th-century village layout, ship-filled harbor and interactive exhibits, throws light on the seaport's extensive seafaring and shipbuilding legacy. The 19th-century whaling ship, last of its fleet, Charles W. Morgan, is docked here.
