Serving as one of the key venues to the city's popular carnival, Krefelder Wintercircus, Sprödentalplatz plays host to a number of other cultural programs throughout the year. 'Kitsch, Art & Co' flea market at Sprödentalplatz attracts more than 900 antique dealers, apart from thousands of buyers from far-off corners of Ruhr and Rhineland. The grounds also witness the highly-attended 10-day Krefeld fair, an annual gala featuring fun-filled rides, candy floss stalls, merry-go-rounds and other attractions.
