Mammoth Mountain is one of the most popular skiing areas in the state of California and is part of the mighty Sierra Nevada range. With several gondolas and ski lifts, visitors have access right up to the top of the mountain, from where visitors can whoosh down its slopes at dizzying speeds. The area has hundreds of ski runs, most of which are rather challenging and meant for seasoned skiers, but slopes such as St. Moritz, Sesame Street and Jill's Run are also available for beginners. The main resort area is home to several lodges, as well as restaurants and bars for some entertainment.
