Incorporated as a state in 1911, Chula Vista means beautiful view in Spanish and it stays true to its name. The city has over 50 square miles (129.50 square kilometers) of coast, hills, mountains, rivers and canyons, and is the second-largest city in the San Diego County. It also known as the Lemon Capital of the World, a title it was bestowed upon during the early 1930's when its lemon orchards produced fruits worth USD1 million. The annual lemon festival commemorates this occasion with live entertainment, handcrafted beers, food and more. Being a tourist destination, Chula Vista has many dining, shopping, sports and recreational areas. Some of the must see attractions are the Sleep Train Amphitheatre, U.S. Olympic Training Center, Sweetwater Marsh National Wildlife Refuge, Chula Vista Center and the Chula Vista Marina.
