Sarasota Municipal Auditorium

The Sarasota Municipal Auditorium was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1995 and is a cultural landmark in the city. Covering an exhibit space of 10,000 square feet (929.03 square meters), it also has a distinct stage area of 1,500 square feet (140 square meters) along with great acoustics. The auditorium is used for exhibitions, dances, concerts, fundraisers, seminars and more. The building has a tunnel vaulted roof and glass blocks which gives its interiors ample natural lighting. The Art Deco styled monument is one of the few remaining in the city featuring this kind of architecture. Its one-of-a-kind Hazzard Fountain was built by skilled artisans and is worth seeing when visiting this historic venue.
