Historic Asolo Theater

Located inside the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art, the Historic Asolo Theater has Italian roots. It was first constructed in 1798, and the castle of Caterina Cornaro was its earlier address. Before it was deconstructed in 1930, this beautiful theater hosted versatile performances by Italian artists. In 1949, the theater was acquired by the museum it today calls home. And was carefully shipped from Italy to the United States. Resembling the shape of a crescent, its three tiers of seats were carefully restored to preserve the essence of this Italian gem. With a series of events occupying its calendar, Historic Asolo Theater is the city's preferred location for aficionados of performing arts.
