The Wells National Estuarine Research Reserve stands as an elegant research site situated at the Wells region in the state of Maine. It strives hard towards the expansion of information and knowledge regarding coasts and estuaries. The site was established in 1984 and comprehensively encompasses a land area of 2,250 acres (9.1 square kilometers). It swanks of 7 miles (11 kilometers) of trails, grasslands, wetlands, salt beach and salt marsh.
