The beautiful lake Auesse in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany is spread over 165 hectares (407 acres) and runs 17.49 meters (57.38 feet) deep. The tranquil lake is a popular destination with swimmers and non-swimmers alike. The swimming area is patrolled by the German Life Saving Society and is often frequented by swimmers, divers, surfers and several other water sports enthusiasts. Also offered by the lake are a lovely adjacent lawn perfect for sunbathing and a gently sloping bathing beach. The beach, which is home to several kiosks and stalls selling delicious fare and exquisite ice-cream, is also a popular destination for a fun family barbeque in the sun. Divers are treated to a stunning view of a scuttled ship now replete with rich biodiversity in the form of several flora and fauna and plants and animals. Entrance to the lake is without cost and parking facilities are available. A separate play area for dogs is also offered.
