Dating back to the Arab civilization, Castello di Milazzo is nestled on the peak of a picturesque hill. It offers remarkable views of the surrounding landscape and remains a National Monument in the country. The present day castle's earliest fabric is the square-shaped tower which dates back to the Arab reign in Sicily. In the medieval times, Castello di Milazzo as well as its arresting tower were enlarged. Castello di Milazzo also houses the ruins of Santa Maria's ancient church and Palazzo dei Giurati.
