Housed in a historic building built in 1870, The Smyrna Opera House is a cultural gem situated in the heart of the city. Opera fans flock to this venue from across the city and the nearby regions on the days of performance to enjoy an entertaining opera performed by talented artists. This building underwent a major renovation in 2003 and now houses a theater, library, meeting room, and an art gallery. Originally known as the Town Hall building, The Smyrna Opera House has been used as a lodge, jail, police station, fire station and a movie theater in the past. Classes and workshops in fitness, opera, and other performing arts events are offered here by experienced professionals for people of all ages.
