The DC Half and Half Marathon is a much-anticipated annual event in Arlington, VA. The 13.1 miles (21 kilometers) long run kicks off bright and early from Ben's Chili Bowl at Wilson Boulevard and continues down the Mount Vernon Trail along the Potomac River before stopping at the starting point for refueling. While at other running events one can expect water stations and fruit for recharging, the DC Half and Half Marathon surprises contestants with a challenge to knock back chips and a half-smoke. The run then moves along the Custis Trail before coming to a close at the starting point.
