Grasshopper-Club Zürich is one of the best football teams in the country. Since the team’s first day on the pitch, the number of titles, fans and respect it has garnered is amazing. It was formed in 1886 and is based in Zürich and is also the oldest football team in the city. Until 2003, the team had won the Swiss Championship 27 times, which is an incredibly difficult feat to achieve. The number of Swiss Cups it holds is equally impressive. It has also delivered stellar performances in the UEFA Champions League and European Cup games. A huge part of this rich legacy was built by stalwart players like Thomas Bickel, Patrick Müller, Christoph Spycher and many more. The team plays in the Swiss Challenge League and holds its home games at the Hardturm stadium.
