British country blues crooner Delta Maid became obsessed with American roots music from a young age. Scouring her parents record collections, she became enamored with the likes of Patsy Cline, Bessie Smith, BB King, Son House and Stevie Ray Vaughn, eventually starting to write and sing songs on her own that merged all her interests into a soulful package that honors her long-favored styles. The Liverpool native possesses a confident and versatile voice that is well-suited for the tightly-constructed folk and country pop songs she writes. Even as she works contemporary R&B, ragtime and Delta blues influences into her music, it's her dynamic voice that will keep vocal pop fans listening. In 2011, Delta Maid received some internet popularity thanks to her creatively-arranged acoustic version of the Strokes' song, "Under Cover of Darkness."
