Combine the rootsy folk rock of The Band and the spikier feel of modern alternative country and you're in the ballpark of Kingsley Flood's sound. The Boston six-piece takes the essence of Americana and attempts to turn it on its head, often performing rollicking sets with energy that has more to do with punk rock than laid-back folk. A feature on NPR earned the band some much deserved exposure, leading to its debut album, Dust Windows, landing at number one on the Amazon roots-rock chart.
