Romanians Thomas De Gasperi and Matteo Maffucci make up the R&B and pop duo Zero Assoluto. Friends since their teenage years, they released their first single, "Ultimo Capodanno," in 1999. Their 2005 hit "Semplicemente" peaked at number two on the Italian Top 40 chart, allowing them to participate at the Festival di Sanremo. This taste of success put the duo on the fast track to international recognition. Their next two singles both reached the number one spot on the Top 40 chart and, after collaborating with singer Nelly Furtado on multiple tracks, Zero Assoluto embarked on a forty-concert tour around Italy in 2007. Their fourth album, Perdermi, was released in 2011.
