Bram Vanparys is a Belgian folk singer/songwriter who works under the name The Bony King of Nowhere. The Ghent native possesses a strong, emotive voice in the higher vocal range that at times echoes that of melancholic giants such as Thom Yorke and Matthew Bellamy from Muse. His palette of intimate folk and indie pop is sprinkled with interesting arrangements that include haunting backing vocals, clanking percussion and string swells. Though Vanparys has yet to find large amounts of success with his Bony King of Nowhere project, popular artists such as Kieran Hebden (Four Tet) and Devendra Banhart have publicly stated how much they admire his work.
