American Aquarium is a band that's nearly impossible to categorize. Formed in 2006 and based out of Raleigh, North Carolina, American Aquarium is comprised of five musicians with diverse backgrounds who all come together to make a style of music the band calls "twang core" or "garage folk." Breaking down boundaries of what most people expect from a band, American Aquarium has managed to become a noted fixture of the Raleigh music scene by putting on wildly chaotic shows that highlight the group's impressive instrumental talent.
