Popular Icelandic indie-folk six-piece Seabear was formed in 2000 and has since garnered a fan base throughout the US and UK, aided by its appearance in popular television shows in each country, including Gossip Girl and Grey's Anatomy. Due to its charming, string filled chamber pop with lyrics sung primarily in English, Seabear has been compared to Sufjan Stevens and Arcade Fire and has thus garnered an audience that appreciates this specific breed of folk.
