GLAY is a Japanese rock band from Hakodate in Hokkaido prefecture that formed in 1988. It features Takuro as the guitarist and principle songwriter, Teru on vocals, Hisashi on guitar, and Jiro on bass. Takuro and Teru have been the original members of GLAY since the band's formation. Since their major debut in 1994, GLAY has led the Japanese music scene with their album sales and the ability to attract hundreds of thousands of people to their performances. In 1999, they attracted 200,000 people to their concert in Chiba prefecture. Some of their most famous songs are "HOWEVER" and "Winter, Again," which each sold millions of copies in Japan.
