JFDR is the solo project of Icelandic singer-songwriter Jófríður Ákadóttir, who debuted the project in 2016 with the single "White Sun." It was followed by the release of the singles "Airborne" and "Wires." JFDR's first full-length album, 2017's White Ferrari, earned Ákadóttir the title of Iceland's 'Artist of the Year' by media outlets in 2018. She went on to release numerous singles such as "Somewhere (String Version)," "Orange" and "Taking a Part of Me," among others before issuing New Dreams in March 2020.
