Like many up and coming artists, Toronto indie-pop outfit Small Sins caught its break at the popular Austin, Texas festival/showcase South by Southwest. Then known as The Ladies and Gentlemen and consisting mostly of just the project's brainchild, Thomas D'Arcy, a deal was cut with electronic label Astralwerks and D'Arcy began to piece together a band. Due to legal problems, the group changed its name to Small Sins and began to craft its blend of electronic textures, acoustic instrumentation and mellow, pop song structures with a self-titled release in 2006. Since then, Small Sins' music has begun to favor its electronic influences even more, incorporating deep synth tones, danceable rhythms and guest appearances from the likes of Canadian rapper K-OS.
