The University of New Hampshire has a long list of teams that compete in NCAA Division I sports. From gymnastics to skiing, the Wildcats play in different leagues depending on the sport, some include the Colonial Athletic Association for football, America East for soccer, volleyball and most others as well as the Eastern Atlantic Gymnastics League. The most successful program is definitely ice hockey, since 1979 the university has produced three championship titles. Also of note, when the Cats take the rink and score their first goal, the fans 'throw fish' over the dasher boards on to the ice in celebration.
