Known affectionately as “The Hibs” by its devout fans, Hibernian F.C. is a highly decorated Scottish football club from Leith, Edinburgh that competes in the Scottish Premiership and plays its home fixtures at Easter Road Stadium. Formed in 1875 by the local Irish community of Edinburgh it derives its name from the Latin name for Ireland. In its long and illustrious past, its most notable achievements include multiple Scottish Cup, Scottish League Cup and the Scottish League First Tier victories. The most prominent fixture in its calendar is the Edinburgh derby which it contests with rivals Heart of Midlothian.
