THE CROW '94 (w/ Rochelle Davis Live!) + Punk Rock Flea Market
On Sunday, August 11th, it’s time to believe in angels once again, as we present a 30th anniversary screening of the 90s goth superhero classic THE CROW, starring Brandon Lee in his final role, with a punk rock flea market during the waning hours of daylight before the fall of darkness, and film star Rochelle Davis (Sarah) appearing in person to meet fans and sell autographs and photos!
Based on the brooding comic by James O’Barr, Brandon Lee is Eric Draven, brooding rock star in a city plagued by rain and darkness, in both illumination and the human spirit. Eric remains a light in that darkness, looking after young neighbor Sarah, but is snuffed out when violent thugs assault him and his fiancé in their apartment. But Draven does not go gentle into that dark night, returning from the dead to enact pitch-black revenge on the gang who took everything from him.
Directed by Alex Proyas and featuring a hit soundtrack that was a who’s who of 90s indie rock, THE CROW was a phenomenon in its day, with an undercurrent of sorrow that permeates every frame and lingers to this day, as it was a star-making role for Brandon Lee, who sadly was killed when a stunt went wrong during production.
The Mahoning Drive-In Theater is proud to present THE CROW on the giant outdoor screen, honoring the spirit of Brandon Lee, the presence of Rochelle Davis, and the legacy of the dark hero in the rainy night.
Gates open at 5pm for our punk rock flea market with a variety of vendors offering up an assaulting array of wild wares, a live DJ set until sundown, and Rochelle Davis in person!
