They Grow Up So Fast: BIG & 13 GOING ON 30 (one Night Only)

On Saturday, July 6th, The Mahoning Drive-in Theater celebrates supernaturally accelerated puberty with a BIG-screen double feature of films proving that old adage, THEY GROW UP SO FAST!

Join us as a boy and a girl, separated by two decades, each wish they were older, and wake up to a world where they can shave, vote, and reach the cookie shelf…and are NOT ready to take on adult responsibilities!

First up is the classic BIG (1988), starring Tom Hanks as a boy trapped in a man’s body after a wish made to an amusement park fortune teller results in a MUCH bigger playground than he’s used to! Directed by Penny Marshall, with Elizabeth Perkins and Robert Loggia, and one of the most famous renditions of “Chopsticks” in film history. Presented on 35mm.

Then, Jennifer Garner is a girl trapped in a woman’s body after a birthday candle wish results in her being 13 GOING ON 30 (2004). Dance the Triller in the moonlight and celebrate with a 20th anniversary screening! With Mark Ruffalo and Judy Greer, and Kathy Baker. Presented digitally.
