Melbourne, Australia-based punk rock outfit Cosmic Psychos emerged in 1982 with a stripped-down, riff-driven mixture of alternative rock and punk rock. The band dropped its self-titled debut album in 1987 with Mr. Spaceman Records, before teaming up with Survival Records for its 1989 follow-up LP, Go the Hack, which would go on to become Cosmic Psychos' breath through album in North America. Issued by Sub Pop Records in 1990, the sophomore effort entered the airwaves at the apex of the grunge movement. Though the band's commercial appeal has declined since the 1990s, it continues to release new albums, including 2011's Glorious Barsteds.
