The Police is a British rock band that was formed by Sting, Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland. This new wave trio broke onto the London scene in the late 1970s, combining with it a rock style that heavily echoed traces of punk, reggae and jazz. Synchronicity, released in 1983, remains to be one of the band's most popular albums, and includes the hit "Every Breath You Take."
