Famous for his own brand of black comedy, Tom Green is an actor, comedian and television personality from Ontario. Green began performing stand-up at local clubs when he was 15 years old and hosted the University of Ottawa's campus radio station while attending school. After a short run as a rapper under the name MC Bones in a group called Organized Rhyme, he broke into the mainstream media in the US when his public-access show The Tom Green Show was picked up by MTV in 1999. The show was driven by shock humor and featured Green and his co-hosts playing pranks on unsuspecting victims, most often his parents. Production of the show was stopped after he was diagnosed with testicular cancer. After successfully receiving treatment, Green made his return to MTV with The Tom Green Cancer Special, which documented his battle with cancer and earned him critical acclaim for revealing a vulnerable human side to his usual animated personality. Green transitioned into film roles and translated his humor into characters in movies such as Road Trip, Charlie's Angels, and Freddy Got Fingered, a movie he wrote and directed himself. Following a high-profile marriage and divorce with actress Drew Barrymore, Green returned to MTV in 2002, resumed his rapping and film career in 2005, and continues to make television and stand-up appearances.
