Schouwburg Deventer located on Leeuwenbrug is a local theater that hosts a variety of plays and dramas. A special theater is dedicated to the senior members of the society where people above 60 years of age perform. Music lovers can attend live music shows, cabaret performances, operas and other musicals. Literary readings, circus acts and dance programs also take place in the theater. Most noted of all events is the Deventer Jazz Festival, a famous jazz music festival.
