The Scottish Rite Temple, or the Santa Fe Lodge of Perfection, is a part of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry's Orient of New Mexico. The pink stucco building was built in 1912 and is fashioned upon a Moorish revival design that was inspired by a gatehouse of the Spanish Alhambra. The structure remains a freemasonry lodge, whose members are dedicated to the welfare of their fellow members and the community as a whole. The members embrace the principles of charity, brotherhood, tolerance and truth in their daily lives and often engage in philanthropic activities. The lodge itself is a stunning sight that stands on stark contrast against the modern architecture that surrounds it. Concerts and other cultural events are sometimes hosted at the lodge as well.
