Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary are two electronic producers from Berlin better known together as Modeselektor (or, MDSLKTR). The duo takes IDM and glitch, two styles that are typically a little more inward-looking and less danceable than other electronic genres, and combines them with the sturdily funky rhythmic backing of hip-hop and electro. The result is a style that manages to be trippy and forward-thinking while remaining suited for the dance floor. In what many might consider the ultimate musician's compliment, Thom Yorke of Radiohead has repeatedly sung Modeselektor's praises during interviews and press junkets. The duo repaid the favor by asking him to contribute lead vocals to its 2007 track, "The White Flash."
