Georgia-born Kelly McFarling is a folk singer/songwriter who channels the spirit of the genre's 1960s and 1970s heyday. Whether performing sparse, haunting songs alone on a banjo, or playing alongside a live band full of slide guitar, percussion and upright bass, her music ultimately revolves around the rich beauty of her vintage, sepia-toned vocals. A move from the South to the San Francisco Bay Area has helped McFarling in her decision to focus solely on music, as she's performed regularly with a number of songwriters throughout the community at local venues, bars and open mics. In addition to her heavy folk leanings, McFarling is also known to stretch her legs a bit with more uptempo bluegrass-inspired tunes from time to time.
