Khatia Buniatishvili is a concert pianist from the Eastern European country of Georgia who began her career performing at the age of 6. Buniatishvili's talent for the instrument was so profound that over the course of the following 10 years, several prestigious festivals throughout Europe invited her to perform, resulting in major success and recognition for the artist. Khatia Buniatishvili's performance style is described as uniquely imaginative as well as mature for her rather young age. Her performance of Haydn's Sonata No. 33 in C-minor at the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Competition in 2008 is considered to be not only a highlight of the competition, but one of the best live performances of the work in contemporary classical music.
