Dual Core is an alternative rap duo from Cincinnati that describes itself as "nerdcore hacker music." The description seems apt while listening to the group's tracks, as video games and computer programming are just a couple of the topics broached in the outfit's rhymes. While nerdcore often comes under fire from hip-hop purists, Dual Core's music seems to exist without the winking sarcasm and irony that is often ingrained in this particular genre. The beats are atypical for nerdcore as well, favoring a more aggressive, East Coast style over the computer-based blips and beeps of some of the duo's contemporaries. Dual Core's debut album, Zero One, was released in 2007.
