Before Independence, India has for decades slaved under the tyrant British rule. Numerous freedom fighters have laid down their lives to attain independence. Finally, on 15th August 1947, India was free from the British rule for good. Every year the country celebrates Independence Day, usually by hoisting the national flag and by remembering those who laid down their lives so the future generations of India would live freely.
